CCRTA Training Program for Independent Travel

Join us as we welcome Cristalyn Searles, Travel Training representative for the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority as she discusses their program for independent travel across Cape Cod communities and hospitals.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Are you or a loved one no longer driving independently? Do you feel uncomfortable or unsafe driving in winter weather or after dark? Did you know that all fixed route CCRTA buses are now FREE? This program will cover all of the ways the CCRTA transit system can help!  CCRTA offers travel training to individuals who would like to learn how to safely and independently use the Cape Cod public transportation fixed-route system.

This CCRTA Travel Training Program offers three types of training that is tailored to meet each participant’s needs. Training includes Trip Training, Individual Transit Orientation, and Group Transit Orientation.

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority Travel Training Program serves the following populations: 

• Seniors • Deaf and Hard of Hearing

• Visual Impairments

• Developmental Limitations

• Mental Health

• Physical Impairments

• Acquired Brain Injuries

• Autism Spectrum Disorders

• Communication Disorders

• Youth

• Adults

Come learn more about how the CCRTA can help you get where you need to go this winter. Registration is required.  All are welcome, and caregivers of others are encouraged to attend.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Cristalyn Searles is a Travel Trainer & Community Engagement Specialist for the Cape Cod RTA

She is a dedicated travel trainer and community engagement professional with over 20 years of experience in customer service, public outreach, and administrative coordination. As part of the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority, Cristalyn is committed to helping individuals of all ages and abilities gain confidence and independence using local transportation services safely and effectively.

Drawing from her extensive background in office management, public communication, and training, Cristalyn excels at creating informative and engaging presentations that connect with diverse audiences. Her approach is warm, patient, and empowering—encouraging riders to feel comfortable navigating routes, schedules, and accessibility features throughout Cape Cod’s public transit network.

Born and raised in New England, Cristalyn brings a deep appreciation for the Cape’s communities and a strong desire to make local transportation more inclusive, accessible, and user-friendly. Her professionalism, compassion, and clear communication make her an invaluable advocate for mobility education and community.
