"A is for Amy who fell down the stairs. B is for Basil assaulted by bears. C is for Clara who wasted away. D is for Desmond thrown out of a sleigh..."

If you're a fan of Edward Gorey’s grim abecedarian tale, then this is the event for you! Join us for an evening of macabre humor and fascinating facts about author, illustrator, puppeteer, and playwright Edward Gorey, who lived and worked on the Cape from 1986 until his death in 2000.  Gregory Hischak, Director and Curator of the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouthport will educate and entertain us with some history about the museum, as well as some stories of Gorey's life.

Registration is required, and we are encouraging all participants to try to write their own "Gashlycrumb Tinies" tale, based on the first initial of your first name!  THE RULES: The first letter of your name (or any name you'd like) is used, and the cause of the demise - all contained in TEN syllables.

Have fun with it - the more original (and grim) the better! All Tiny Tales submitted will be read aloud during the event. One "tale" will be selected at random for a chance to win a Family Membership to the Edward Gorey House. Feel free to call the Reference Desk at extension 2110 if you need a little help creating one!

Registration for this event has now closed.
