Michael Magyar's GIANTS: The History and Creation of a Sandwich Holiday Tradition πŸŽ„

Join us as we welcome artist and sculptor Michael Magyar back to the library for a presentation about his giant lighted sculptures. He will describe the process he takes in creating them, while introducing us to a few new ones that have recently been added to the Sandwich holiday landscape!

Michael Magyar creates giant lighted sculptures which are on display during the holiday season mainly along Route 6A in Sandwich and beyond. In the nearly 3 decades he's been creating them, over six dozen Giants have been made, with more being added annually.

Based out of his shop "The Glass Studio on Cape Cod" on Route 6A in Sandwich, Magyar's creations have transformed the town of Sandwich. His whimsical and unique structures have been a thrill to see each holiday season for more than 25 years.

You won't want to miss this fascinating and festive presentation by the man who started it all! Space is limited - Registration is required.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: On Cape Cod, glass has been made for generations. The town of Sandwich, Massachusetts, has been famous for over a hundred years for its "Sandwich Glass". Today, glassblower Michael Magyar continues this proud tradition at "The Glass Studio on Cape Cod." Located on historic Route 6A, Michael invites you to watch as he creates new handblown glass daily in his studio-glass that fits well in any museum or private collection, yet appropriately priced. Michael's glass is found across the United States and in Japan. Michael also creates sculptures of steel, concrete and glass; and custom glass lamp shades.
