Journal Making Craft with Emily Taillefer
Come create a simple, handheld journal to take with you to fill with your own thoughts, art, and ephemera. Learn the process of creating a signature of pages and a beginner-friendly bookbinding method that you will be able to replicate at home. Choose from a variety of stationary and art papers as well as book pages to make your journal uniquely yours. All materials are included. The only thing you need to bring is your imagination! PLEASE NOTE: Ms. Taillefer will have some examples of her hand-made journals available for purchase, should you be interested in purchasing one as a gift for someone special in your life.
ABOUT THE EVENT: We are offering this journal making workshop to our patrons with the hope that those who come to this craft workshop will then use their newly made journals at some of the writing workshops we're offering during February and March, 2025. We've gathered 7 local authors to facilitate more than 15 writing workshops over the 8 week period, thanks to a generous gift donation from the Boucher Family Charitable Gift Fund for Adult Literacy programming. The workshops in this series will cover a wide variety of writing workshops covering different writing genres including: plays/screenwriting, historical fiction, memoir, domestic thriller, children's books, intuitive writing, and poetry, just to name a few. Please see the Library website for a full list of the writing workshops being offered or go to our Library Event Calendar for more information on each specific workshop. Sign up for a few workshops, or come to ALL. We hope to see you there!
