ABOUT THE EVENT: This is a timely portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt as she navigates the twists and turns of an early life on her road toward becoming Mother of the World. Written and performed by award winning performing artist, Janet Rodgers, this inspirational and heartwarming performance takes the audience on a journey as Eleanor faces her fears and her critics with determination, courage – and even a bit of humor!  Space is limited and registration is required. Refreshments will be served.

ABOUT THE PERFORMER: Janet Rodgers’ professional career has been devoted to theatre. She was principal actress with the Boston Shakespeare Company during its heyday, playing such roles as Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, Adrianna in Comedy of Errors and Regan in King Lear. During the 1970s and early ‘80s, she played many classic roles at Boston’s Lyric Stage, winning Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Hilda Wangel in Ibsen’s The Master Builder. Since her retirement from university teaching, Ms. Rodgers has devoted her creative energies to writing and performing solo pieces, portraying heroic women on stage.
