Sandwich Public Library Writing Workshop Series
Calling all aspiring and accomplished writers! Join us for our very special Writer Workshops featuring local authors!
We've gathered 7 authors to facilitate more than 15 writing workshops over an 8 week period thanks to a generous gift donation from the Boucher Family Charitable Gift Fund. The workshops will be held during February and March, 2025. We have coordinated a wide variety of writing workshops covering different writing genres including: plays/screenwriting, historical fiction, memoir, domestic thriller, children's books, intuitive writing, and poetry, just to name a few. Please see the Library Event Calendar for a full list of the writing workshops being offered. Sign up for a few workshops, or ALL. We hope to see you there! All participants are asked to bring a notebook and pens, pencils, or your laptop.
For this workshop we welcome Michael Solomowitz from the Cape Cod Writers Center.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Whether you want to reach your audience through laughter (Comedy) or emotional impact (Drama) in a one-act or full-length play, Solomowitz will teach you the basics of using characters, dialogue, and plot to get your play from the page to the stage!
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Originally from Coney Island, Michael Solomowitz is an award-winning author who has enjoyed a roller-coaster writing career. His debut novel, BEHIND THE FOURTH WALL, was published in 2022. His latest—LAST STOP, CONEY ISLAND—is currently being shopped to publishers. Mr. Solomowitz worked as a scriptwriter, copywriter, and journalist and continues to write and direct for the theater, his first love. His plays were produced on stages in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Cape Cod. He is a member of the Authors Guild and the Cape Cod Writers Center board of directors.
