Sandwich Public Library Writing Workshop Series
Calling all aspiring and accomplished writers! Join us for our very special Writer Workshops featuring local authors!
We've gathered 7 authors to facilitate more than 15 writing workshops over an 8 week period thanks to a generous gift donation from the Boucher Family Charitable Gift Fund. The workshops will be held during February and March, 2025. We have coordinated a wide variety of writing workshops covering different writing genres including: plays/screenwriting, historical fiction, memoir, domestic thriller, children's books, intuitive writing, and poetry, just to name a few. Please see the Library website HERE for a full list of the writing workshops being offered, or go to the library Event Calendar for information on each specific workshop. Sign up for a few workshops, or ALL. We hope to see you there! All participants are asked to bring a notebook and pens, pencils, or your laptop.
For this workshop we welcome Judith Partelow from the Cape Cod Writers Center.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Partelow will guide the group in listening to poems that stimulate memories, conversation, writing to thoughts prompted, editing and sharing.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Judith Partelow has been a resident of Cape Cod, MA for over forty years. Inspired by her chapbook of the same name, in 2017 she wrote her first play, A Woman’s Heart, created entirely from her poetry. The play was then taught as a course as part of the Academy of Lifelong Learning. Her next chapbook of poems was Carry Me Back, A Woman’s Life in Poetry.
Her latest book, Passion & Provocation, Selected Poems, is a comprehensive compilation of her poetry that spans over 40 years of writing. This latest collection is an invitation to explore the many colors of Judith Partelow’s poetry; a tapestry of threads woven through tender longings and joyful celebrations of love, friendships, marriages, family bonds, the soul, and other themes of a life well lived. Her workshops are an invitation to listen to poetry, write down any thoughts triggered by them, and then follow a few brief instructions to create your own poem. No stress, just fun, and through the challenge you may discover you are, yourself, a poet! Sandwich Public Library Writing Workshop Series
