Color Our World Adult Summer Reading: Art Class with Joe Gallant 😎
Join us as we create individual masterpieces! Local artist Joe Gallant will lead us in painting 4x4" or 6x6" Tiny Painting canvas panel boards with acrylic paints. Space is limited. For an accurate head-count, please register no later than Monday, July 7!
ABOUT THE EVENT: Joe will begin by doing two painting demonstrations at an easel. Participants can follow his lead or create their own design. Two different paintings will be created, as time allows. All supplies will be provided - Just bring your artistic vibes! If you have your own brushes that you would like to use, you are welcome to bring them.
**PLEASE NOTE: Please be sure to wear clothing suitable for painting. We will be using acrylic paint, so it should wash out of clothing, however, we wanted to make you aware that painting smocks will NOT be provided, so please plan accordingly.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Award-winning Cape Cod artist Joe Gallant has been a full-time painter and instructor on Cape Cod for 25 years. He has conducted his popular Big Brush painting workshops for beginners and more advanced students at Cotuit Center for the Arts for a number of years. In 2019 and 2021, Joe also conducted all-day painting workshops sponsored by Cape Cod Collaborative for Cape and Islands public and private school arts teachers. He employs a casual and fun approach to painting instruction that his students enjoy.
Joe has an in-home gallery in Sandwich that is open by appointment. His original art, prints, boxed note cards and boxed Christmas cards are also sold in retail stores and on his website at www.capecodwatercolors.com.
This event is part of the Sandwich Public Library Adult Summer Reading Program, "Color Our World," and has been generously supported by the Friends of the Sandwich Public Library.
