The Irish Bodhrán drum is the traditional drum of Ireland.. It is a frame drum with a shallow body and a single-skin head. The word Bodhrán means "drum" in Irish, which is part of the Celtic family of languages; the word literally translates as "skin tray." It is common throughout Irish traditional music and other forms of Celtic music. It was first used by the Irish army to march into battles and is the foundation of many forms of traditional Irish music.

Don Gauland is a retired systems analyst, abstract artist, and musician who loves to express rhythms on the Bodhran. Learn more about Don at: https://inkpainter.vpweb.com/
