It's World Knit In Public Day!!

Join the Sandwich Public Library Knit Lits knitting group as they join thousands of other knitters/crocheters around the world on Saturday, June 8 from 11:00am-2:00pm on the Library Lawn!

Knitters of all levels welcome - even new knitters! Simply bring your knitting or crochet project and a chair to sit on. (In the event of rain, the group will meet in the Library.) 

History of Worldwide Knit in Public Day: The purpose of Worldwide Knit in Public Day is to show that knitting is for all ages and that it’s a fun and enjoyable activity, and something that you can proud of! For a long time, we have associated knitting with something our grandparents do. However, it is an activity that can be enjoyed by all, and that’s what this day is all about. It’s a great way to encourage people to try knitting who have never tried it before, or even thought about giving it a go!
